Irish Museum Celebrating the Famous John Ford Quiet Man Film
The Quiet Man Museum, Tours & Giftshop and Michaeleen's Manor B&B are part of Cong Holiday Group, a family run business developed by Gerry & Margaret Collins. Gerry & Margaret met when they worked in Ashford Castle recently voted as one of world's most luxurious hotels. Gerry & Margaret have worked tirelessly over the last 35 years promoting their small village of Cong as the location of the filming of the John Ford classic movie The Quiet Man.
They operate guided tours to The Quiet Man film locations. In 1994, they opened The Quiet Man Museum, which was visited by the Wayne family and where John Wayne's widow, Josephine, wrote in the visitor book: 'Duke would have loved this!'. In 2005, Gerry & Margaret opened Michaeleen's Manor B&B which is themed on The Quiet Man with character named bedrooms and housing one of the largest collection of Quiet Man memorabilia ever assembled.
